Vromans Nose rss

Writing down the beauty of a great view.

Campfire in Rain: A little rain don't stop me from enjoying a campfire.

Vromans Nose

I sit here in Vromans Nose,
looking into the valley,
at Vast Expanses of farmland
and miles and miles of green next to
vast fields.

I look and I see people at work,
making their livings from the land,
and those simply spending a weekend
out here vacationing like myself.

There are farm hands hard at work --
in the fields planting crops,
riding tractors in the hot summer sun,
and driving trucks full of manure
from the CAFO to the field.

And there are people hard at play --
pickup trucks with ATVs in the back,
or people pulling campers and boats
along Route 30.

This area is truly beautiful and unique
at the same time. People come to relax,
and they come to work. Locals or vistors
they seem to be lost in the beauty.

For this area is unique,
different then the rural areas of the
North Country and the big dairies and orchards
that make people's lives out here.

Yet, it is the same in how
people live off the land in both places,
how many come to see and enjoy it.
The mountains look different, but
somehow it's all so much the same.
