There are two competing definations of homosexuality. One suggests that homosexuality is only the deviant sex behavior, while another suggests that homosexuality is any feeling of one person of the same sex to another of the same sex.

The prior can be easily dismissed on grounds that promiscus sex is never desirable, and that sex outside of procreation is wrong. After all, one of us want to have kids that we really don't desire, nor do we want to have an abortion. Restrainting yourself from certain deviant acts is different from restraint on love.

Denying love based on a misreading of the bible is more troublesome. Shouldn't all of man kind love each other, regardless of cultural norm? Why shouldn't people of the same sex be able to bond together into a closer relation for all time?

Legalizing gay marriage isn't about saying deviant sex is okay. It is about allowing two people who love each other to permanently get together and bond in a way that others can do. Yes, it makes sense to have certain limitations on marriage like prohibitions on children and relatives from marrying, but why not two people of the same sex?

We need to stop hate. We need to allow people who love each other to be together for all time, and share responsibility. When we start to see marriage as a bond between people who forever have committed themselves to be one, then our society will be stronger.
